Broad Peak Expedition

Broad peak is the 4th highest in Pakistan and ranking 12th highest mountains in the world at 8,051m above sea level. Its local name is “FALCHAN KANGRI” that means Broad Peak. This giant mountain was scaled between 8 and 9 June 1957. The first ascent was made by Austrian Expedition led by “Marcus Schmuck” along with “Hermann Buhal”, Kurt Diemberger and “Fritz Wintersteller”. Broad peak is regarded to be the easiest mountain in Pakistan among the 8000m peaks. Most of the international climbers use Broad peak as Acclimatization Mountain for K2 because the way from Broad peak base camp to K2 is just one and half hours distance.
