It is part of the Gasherbrum massif, located in the Gilgit Baltistan region of Pakistan.The G-IV unique position at the junction of the Baltoro glacier adds to its distinct allure.Despite its lower height relative to the surrounding eight-thousand, Gasherbrum IV is a venerated challenge among mountaineers. Its immense West Face looms over the glacial junction of Concordia.It is considered one of the most beautiful and challenging peaks for mountaineers to climb due to its rugged and steep terrain, unpredictable weather conditions and high altitude.In 1958, Walter Bonatti and Carlo Mauri achieved the first ascent via the Northeast Ridge and the North Summit.
